Nurnberg 1634 thaler Dav-5651
This specimen was lot 2239 in Künker Auction 425 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €1,700 (about US$2,407 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHE MÜNZEN UND MEDAILLEN · NÜRNBERG, STADT Reichstaler 1634, mit Titel Ferdinands II. Seltener Jahrgang. Attraktives Exemplar mit feiner Patina, winz. Zainende, vorzüglich +. (Germany, city of Nuremberg, thaler of 1634, struck in the name of Ferdinand II. Scarce date, attractive example with fine patina, minor clip, extremely fine or better.)"
This type was struck 1632, 1634 and undated. It is scarcer than KM 94/Dav-5647 (without cherub) of 1629-37.
