Heritage sale 3029, lot 30963

This specimen was lot 30963 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $426.53. The catalog description[1] noted, "Carl (IX) Regent Ore 1601, XF45 NGC. Lightly porous surfaces as is typical for this series but with virtually no wear evident. Very scarce type struck during the Regency of Carl IX while his brother and King, Sigismund III, was ruling in Poland. The obverse features a large Jehovah in Hebrew." This billon coin is listed for 1601-03.
