This specimen was lot 652 in Jean Elsen sale 162 (Brussels, June 2025), where it sold for €280 (about US$388 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRABANT, Duché, Philippe IV (1621-1665), AR ducaton, 1637, Anvers. Deuxième type. D/ B. dr. et cuir. à d. R/ Écu couronné, tenu par deux lions. En dessous, le bijou de la Toison d'or. Nettoyé. (duchy of Brabant, Philip IV, 1621-65, silver ducaton of 1637, Antwerp mint, second type. Obverse: draped and armored bust right; reverse: crowned arms supported by two lions, the jewel of the Golden Fleece below. Cleaned, about Very Fine.)"

The regular type, issued 1636-65 from Antwerp (with hand mintmark) and Brussels (angel face mintmark), is scarce but not rare. The multiple ducatons, which include double and quadruple issues, are all rare. Triple ducatons of this portrait were struck intermittently 1637-57. The other provinces issued this type, including Artois, Flanders, Tournai and Luxembourg.
