Sincona sale 86, lot 1849

This specimen was lot 1849 in Sincona sale 86 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 2,000 CHF (about US$2,693 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Elizabeth II. 1952-2022. Proof 5 Pounds 2019, Royal Mint Llantrisant. Gold. 'Tower of London - Ceremony of the Keys'. Very rare. Only 385 pieces struck. NGC PF69 ULTRA CAMEO. With original box and certificate. No. 36 of 385 sets."

Recorded mintage: 18,986 in copper-nickel plus 2,389 silver proofs plus 712 silver pieforts plus 385 in gold.

Specification: KM 1741: 28.28 g, copper-nickel, 38.61 mm diameter, reeded edge; KM 1741a: 0.925 fine silver; KM 1741c: 39.97 g, 0.917 fine gold, this specimen 39.93 g.
