Sincona sale 26, lot 2657

This specimen was lot 2657 in Sincona sale 26 (Zürich, October 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description^[1] noted,

"Fulda, Bistum, Amandus von Buseck, 1737-1756 Dukat 1738. Vorzüglich-FDC (abbey of Fulda, Amandus of Buseck, 1737-56, ducat of 1738, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

The abbot of Fulda issued ducats at irregular intervals and the survivors are today rare. In 1752 he was promoted to bishop.

Specification: 3.5 g, 0.986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW, this specimen 3.46 g.
