Spain 1795-M MF 4 escudos

This specimen was lot 788 in Aureo y Calicó sale 243 (Barcelona, April 2012), where it sold for 1,400 € (about US$2,115 including buyer's fees). The catalog[1] noted,
"1795. Carlos IV. Madrid. MF. 4 escudos. Insignificante golpecito. Bellísima. Brillo original. Muy rara así. S/C. (four escudos of 1795, Madrid mint. Tiny nicks, very handsome, original luster, very rare thus, about uncirculated.)"
It is one of a series minted at Madrid 1788-1803 for Charles IV. The type is not cheap but quite a bit more available than the very rare eight escudos.
