This specimen was lot 11548 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €240 (about US$250). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. 2 Skilling (Doppelschilling), 1526. Schleswig-Holstein. Frederik I. NGC AU Details--Reverse Scratched. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This type was struck for the duchy of Schleswig-Holstein 1514, 1520-27 before its partition into royal and ducal sections. Some issues have two digit dates, as here, and others have four digit dates. The doppel-schilling was 1/18 of a thaler.
