This specimen was lot 11550 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €480 (about US$500). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. Søsling (Sechsling), ND (1516-32). Schleswig-Holstein. Frederik I. NGC AU-53. Rich colorful toning. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This type was struck for the duchy of Schleswig-Holstein before its partition into royal and ducal sections. It is known dated 1516, 1532 and undated, as here. The søsling (sechsling) was 1/42 of a thaler.
