Künker sale 293, lot 2176

This specimen was lot 2176 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabruck, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €370 (about US$499 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEDEN, KÖNIGREICH, Karl XII. 1697-1718. 4 Mark 1703, Stockholm. Leicht korrodiert, sehr schön. (kingdom of Sweden, Charles XII, 1697-1718, four mark of 1703, Stockholm mint. Light corrosion, very fine.)"

This type was struck 1701-05 and is rather scarce compared to the four mark struck by Carl XI.

Recorded mintage: 74,000.

Specification: 15.67 g, 0.922 fine silver.
