Sweden 1864-ST riksdaler riksmynt
This specimen was lot 11442 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €145 (about US$151). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. Riksdaler Riksmynt, 1864 - ST. Stockholm Mint. Karl XV. NGC AU Details--Cleaned. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." In 1855, the skilling was dropped and 100 öre = 4 riksdaler riksmynt = one riksdaler specie (the riksdaler specie remained unchanged). This type of 1860-67 and 1871 is somewhat common. In 1873, the riksdaler specie was dropped and 100 öre = 1 krona (the krona, at 7.5 g, 0.800 fine silver, was slightly smaller than the old riksdaler riksmynt).
Recorded mintage: 85,000, a better date.
Specification: 8.50 g, 0.750 fine silver, this specimen 8.46 g.
