This specimen was lot 72389 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $100. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. 5 Ore, 1863/2. Stockholm Mint. Karl XV. NGC MS-64 Brown. This highly attractive example boasts a strong strike with well-defined devices and lovely mottled brown patina with plenty of original mint red amongst the devices." This type was struck 1860-67 and 1872. This overdate is more common than the regular date.
Recorded mintage: 633,000 including the regular date.
