Revision as of 16:54, 13 March 2025 by LatinKing2020 (talk | contribs) (Text replacement - "formerly in the Mountain Groan Collection" to "from the Mountain Groan Collection")
This type was struck 1959-2001 and has little collector value except for some of the early proofs. Austria began minting euros in 2002, rendering this coin obsolete. The obverse features the edelweiss, the flower made famous by The Sound of Music. In 1982, US$1 = 16.7 schilling.
Recorded mintage: 10,678,600 plus 100,400 proofs.
Specification: 4.2 g, aluminum bronze, 22.5 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: KM 2886.
