Italy 1953-R 5 lire
The specimen shown is from a type struck in Rome for Italy 1951-2000. It superseded a larger aluminum coin (KM 89) struck 1946-50 which is now quite scarce in nice condition. Recorded mintage: 196,200,000.
Specification: 1 g, aluminum, plain edge, 20.2 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: KM 92, Gig-284.
