This specimen was lot 1157 in Jean Elsen sale 159 (Brussels, June 2024), where it sold for €140 (about US$180 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ALLEMAGNE, République de Weimar, (1919-1933), AR 5 Reichsmark, 1930 D. Evacuation du Rheinland. Fines griffes. Superbe. (Germany, Weimar Republic, 1919-33, silver five mark of 1930, departure of the French from the Rhineland. Hairlines, extremely fine.)"

This type is not rare but still expensive. The occasion of the commemorative was the withdrawal of French occupation troops from the Rhineland and its return to German control.

Recorded mintage: 84,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 25 g, 0.500 fine silver.
