Westphalia 1810-B 10 thaler Fr-3511
This specimen was lot 240 in Sincona sale 46 (Zurich, May 2018), where it sold for 700 CHF (about US$840 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Westfalen, Königreich, Hieronymus Napoleon, 1807-1813. 10 Taler 1810, Braunschweig. Schön-sehr schön. Fassungsspuren. (kingdom of Westphalia, Jerome Napoleon, 1807-13, ten thalers of 1810, Brunswick mint. Fine-very fine, Traces of mounting.)"
This type was struck 1810 only and is rare. When Jerome, Napoleon's brother, started showing signs of thinking independently, he was deposed and the kingdom annexed to France. At the Congress of Vienna, the area was restored to its former lords, Hannover and Prussia.
