Netherlands 1995 ducat

Stack's Bowers October 2024 Collector's Choice sale, lot 75550

This specimen was lot 75550 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2024), where it sold for $336. The catalog description^[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. Ducat, 1995. NGC PROOF-69 Ultra Cameo. Bright and lustrous with hard mirrored fields and frosted cameo devices." The Netherlands was the last country to strike ducats on a regular basis. This modernized type was struck 1986-2015 and sold to bullion investors. Similar double ducats exist.

Recorded mintage: 11,000.

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, 21 mm diameter, reeded edge, 0.1104 troy oz AGW.
