This specimen is a common date of a type struck at the Paris mint for France 1962-2001. Some of the later dates, such as 1998, 1999 and 2001, are only available from FDC sets. This type was accompanied by a similar five, ten and fifty centimes (until 1964). All were demonetized with the coming of the euro in 2002.
