from the Mountain Groan Collection

This specimen is a zinc one øre issued under King Frederik IX, and was issued 1948-55, superseded by a similar type of 1956-71. The privy mark (for Copenhagen) is shown as a small heart on the reverse, along with N and S, the initials of the mint officials.

Recorded mintage: 460,000 (scarcest date).

Specification: 1.6 g, zinc, 16 mm diameter.
