This specimen was lot 30224 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $21,150. The catalog description[1] noted, "A Classic Rarity Frederick III Specie Daler 1651-FG (bottle), MS62 NGC. Steel gray patina with sharply struck design features, a rare and most popular type in this select quality. The 'bottle' privy mark was the symbol for Frederick Gruner from 1651-1659. A classic rarity in the Norwegian series which will undoubtedly evoke spirited bidding competition." This type, listed for 1651-52, is rare.
