This frank was struck for kings Leopold III and Baudouin I of Belgium, 1950-88. This is a common date but slightly scarce in nice condition. A nearly equal quantity were struck with French legends (KM 142.1). Varieties exist with medal alignment (KM 143.2). Belgium joined the euro in 2002 and all the franc coinage is obsolete.
Recorded mintage: 53,750,000 plus 51,025, 000 with French legends.
Specification: 4 g, copper-nickel, 21 mm diameter, reeded edge.
