This specimen was lot 2641 in Künker sale 404 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €120 (about US$158 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

Exemplar der Auktion Dr. Busso Peus Nachf. 410, Frankfurt/Main 2013, Nr. 2813. (Germany, county of Hatzfeld, Francis of Hatzfeld-Gleichen, 1677-1685, three good kreuzer of 1684, Niederstetten min, mintmaster probably Hans Nikolaus Kolb. Obverse: value a circle of pearls, date below; reverse: crowned ornate six-fold arms. Rare, very fine. The Hatzfeld-Gleichen-Trachenberg line received Gleichen Castle as a fief from the elector of Mainz in 1631. In 1794 Gleichen and Wandersleben fell extinct and lapsed back to Mainz. Franz von Hatzfeld-Gleichen was canon in Mainz, Trier and Würzburg and exercised the right to mint from 1654 in the years 1679-1685. The (Nieder)stetten mint was only marginally legal.)"

A previous Franz von Hatzfeld (d. 1642) was prince-bishop of Bamberg and Wurzburg. This coin seems to be the only issue of this prince. The town, now in the state of Hesse, has a population of about 3,000.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver or billon, this specimen 1,37 g.
