This specimen was lot 4109 in Sincona sale 95 (Zurich, October 2024), where it sold for 3,800 CHF (about US$5,267 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Bern, Stadt und Kanton, Vierer 1617, Bern. Von grösster Seltenheit. Sehr schön. Exemplar der Slg. Kunzmann, Auktion SINCONA 44, Zürich, Oktober 2017, Los 5103. (Switzerland, canton of Bern, vierer of 1617, Bern mint. Of the highest rarity, Very Fine.)"
This type was struck 1617-24 and undated. The reverse legend, "+BERCHT·D·ZERI·COND", likely refers to Berthold V, last duke of Zähringen (r. 1186-1218).
