Sincona sale 94, lot 2021

This specimen was lot 2021 in Sincona sale 94 (Zurich, October 2024), where it sold for 325 CHF (about US$ including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ITALIEN Vatikan - Kirchenstaat, Benedikt XIV. 1740-1758. Zecchino 1743, Roma. Sehr schön. Leichte Fassungsspuren. (Italy, the Papal States, Benedict XIV, 1740-50, zecchino of 1743, Rome mint. Very Fine, Some traces of jewelry.)"

This type was struck 1741-56 and is among the more common of papal ducats.
