Künker sale 293, lot 321

This specimen was lot 321 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabruck, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €420 (about US$566 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM Friedrich Wilhelm, der Große Kurfürst, 1640-1688. 2/3 Taler 1683, BH, Minden. R Hübsche Patina, sehr schön +. (Germany, electorate of Brandenburg, Frederick William, the Great Elector, 1640-88, two thirds thaler of 1683, Minden mint. Scarce, handsome patina, very fine or better.)"

This type was struck at Minden struck 1683-84. Other ⅔ thalers for 1683 include KM 445.5, KM A446, KM 446, all scarcer.
