This specimen was lot 1261 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $510. The catalog description[1] noted, "BOLIVIA: Republic, AR 8 soles, 1848, assayer M, listed as rare in Krause, Potosi Mint, once lightly cleaned, About VF, ex Almer H. Orr III Collection." This type was struck 1846-48 and this is a scarce date. The 1848 eight soles with Bolivar facing left is more common.
