This hundred yen was issued for the emperor Hirohito and was struck 1957-58. Silver 100 yen (KM 78) were struck until 1966, then converted to copper-nickel.

Specification: 4.8 g, 0.600 fine silver, 22.5 mm diameter, reeded edge.
