South Korea 1986 50000 won
This specimen was lot 40254 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "KOREA (SOUTH). 50,000 Won, 1986. NGC PROOF-68 ULTRA CAMEO. Olympics Commemorative, Turtle Boat." This one year type, like many modern commemoratives, trades as a bullion coin.
Recorded mintage: 30,000.
Specification: 33.62 g, 0.925 fine gold, 1.000 troy oz AGW, 33 mm diameter.
