This specimen was lot 33631 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $900. The catalog description[1] noted, "Nicholas I gold 5 Roubles 1844 CПБ-КБ MS61 NGC, St. Petersburg mint. Eagle of 1845 type. Greenish-gold luster with sharp details and light marks." This type is listed for 1832-46 and is fairly common in circulated condition. Proofs exist. In 1886, the standard was revised to match the French twenty francs d'or, resulting in a weight reduction to .186 troy oz.
