This specimen was lot 23870 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $1,468.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Maria I & Pedro III gold 6400 Reis 1780-B, AU58 NGC. Lightly handled with thin wispy marks in the obverse fields. From The RLM Collection, Part II." This type was struck 1777-86 and is among the more available colonial gold coins of Brazil.

Specification: 14.34 g, 0.917 fine gold, .422 troy oz AGW.
