Jean Elsen sale 144, lot 1334

This specimen was lot 1334 in Jean Elsen sale 144 (Brussels, March 2020), where it sold for €630 (about US$830 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BELGIQUE, Royaume, Albert II (1993-2013), AV 100 euro, 2004. Elargissement de l'Union Européenne. Flan poli. (kingdom of Belgium, Albert II, 1993-2013, gold hundred euro of 2004, enlargement of the European Union. Proof.)"

In 2004, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, and Slovenia joined the European Union.
