Heritage sale 3032, part of lot 31060

This specimen was part of lot 31060 in Heritage sale 3032 (Chicago, April 2014), which sold for $305.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Elizabeth II Mint Set Pair 1953 & 1958, Both sets have six coins (cent, nickel, dime, quarter, half dollar, dollar) and remain nearly tone-free." This type, featuring the first bust of the queen, was issued in large quantities 1953-64.

Recorded mintage: 9,336,910.

Specification: 5.83 g, 0.800 fine silver, .150 troy oz ASW, 23.8 mm diameter, reeded edge, designed by Mary Gillick and G. E. Kruger-Gray.
