Aureo sale 238, lot 452

This specimen was lot 452 in Aureo & Calicó sale 238 (Barcelona, November 2011), where it sold for 70 euro (about US$111 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"1794. Potosí. PR. 8 reales. Rayitas en anverso. MBC-. (eight reales of 1794, Potosí mint. Obverse scratch, nearly Very fine.)"

The assayer PR appears for 1776-95 and assayer PP for 1794-1802.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 27.07 grams, 0.896 fine silver, .780 troy oz ASW.
