This specimen was lot 383 in Stephen Album sale 47 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $480. The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY: Mahmet V, 1909-1918, AV 100 kurush monnaie de luxe, Kostantiniye, AH1327 year 2, mount removed, bold EF." The monnaie de luxe was a broader, thinner version of the regular circulation gold coinage (KM 754) and was intended for jewelry. This 100 kurush was struck years 1-6. Nearly all survivors are holed or soldered.
