Cuba 1936 peso rev DSLR.jpg

This type was struck in the United States for Cuba 1934-39 using silver dollar blanks. Most were held in government vaults as backing for paper currency and later melted; the original mintage has little bearing on the number of survivors. This date isn't too rare.

Recorded mintage: 16,000,000 (most melted).

Specification: 26.73 g, 0.900 fine silver, .773 troy oz AGW.

Catalog reference: KM 22.
