Colombia 1847-B 8 reales

This type was struck 1847 only at the Bogotá mint and is scarce but not rare in circulated condition. It is the last eight reales struck in Colombia; at 20 grams, it is only 80% of the ten reales (KM 107) which superseded it. The richly symbolic obverse design has made this type among the more popular South American crowns.
