Colombia 1847-B 8 reales
Revision as of 18:13, 14 September 2023 by LatinKing2020 (talk | contribs) (Text replacement - " .900 fine" to " 0.900 fine")
This type was struck 1847 only at the Bogotá mint and is scarce but not rare in circulated condition. It is the last eight reales struck in Colombia; at 20 grams, it is only 80% of the ten reales (KM 107) which superseded it. The richly symbolic obverse design has made this type among the more popular South American crowns.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 20 g, 0.900 fine, .578 troy oz ASW.
Catalog reference: KM 106.
