H3094-34461r.jpg

This specimen was lot 34461 in Heritage sale 3094 (Chicago, August 2021), where it sold for $4,680. The catalog description[1] noted, "Canada: Edward VII 25 Cents 1910 MS66 PCGS, Ottawa mint. An elite selection that ranks a mere "plus" from the finest certified between PCGS and NGC to date. Lightly toned down and velveteen rather than "beamingly" brilliant, this gem boasts a refined appearance that results from the sheer sleekness of its surfaces and an understatedly elegant patina that blends mottled russet and seafoam obverse tints with pale golden highlights to the reverse. This top-notch example should draw considerable interest from the highly quality-conscious crowd. From the Buckingham Collection." This type was struck 1902-1910 at the London and Heaton mints. This date is fairly common but not the lowest priced in the SCWC. All the dates are rare in high grade.

Recorded mintage: 3,577,569, common date.

Specification: 5.81 g, 0.925 fine silver, .173 troy oz ASW, reeded edge.
