Solothurn 1826 5 rappen

This specimen was lot 4952 in Sincona sale 83 (Zurich, May 2023), where it sold for 400 CHF (about US$535 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND Solothurn, Halbbatzen 1826, Solothurn. FDC. Prachtvolle Erhaltung (Uncirculated, Magnificent condition)." This was the only issue of this denomination. It accompanied a one, 2½ and five batzen. Five rappen made half a batzen or two kreuzer. Forty batzen made a thaler.
