Goldberg sale 72, lot 4837
Eq Guinea 1993 30000 francos rev Goldberg 72-4837.jpg

This specimen was lot 4837 in Goldberg sale 72 (Los Angeles, February 2013), where it sold for $1,725. The catalog description[1] noted, "Equatorial Guinea. 30000 Francos, 1993. Mintage 700 of which 400 pieces remelted at mint. Arms. Reverse: Elephant. PCGS graded MS-68." That noble animal, the elephant, deserves a better coin than this botched design.

Recorded mintage: 700.

Specification: 33.93 g, .917 fine gold, 1.0003 troy oz AGW.

Catalog reference: KM 107.
