Künker sale 352, lot 2118

This specimen was lot 2118 in Künker sale 352 (Osnabruck, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €7,500 (about US$10,438 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SACHSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich August I. 1806-1827. Dukat 1809, auf das 400jährige Jubiläum der Universität Leipzig. GOLD. RR Kl. Kratzer, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. Erworben 1957 bei der Firma Grabow, Berlin. (Germany, kingdom of Saxony, Frederick Augustus I, 1806-27, on the 400th anniversary of the university of Leipzig. Rare, light scrathces, extremely fine to uncirculated. Bought from Grabow in 1957.)"

This is listed in Friedberg under Leipzig, even tho that city never had an independent existence. It is not mentioned in the SCWC. It is on the border between coin and medal. The date is in a chronogram on the reverse.
