Neth Antilles 1982 2-5 gulden rev DSLR.jpg

The Netherlands Antilles comprise the islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao off the coast of Venezuela and St. Eustatius and St. Maarten in the Leeward Islands. Coinage was issued for Curaçao during World War Two, while the island was occupied by American troops, but nothing was issued for the island group as a whole until 1952. This type was struck 1980-85 and is common. The subsequent type was "aureate" (brass plated?) steel (KM 38). The Netherlands Antilles gulden was abolished in 2010 and replaced by the United States dollar.

Recorded mintage: 44,000.

Specification: 14 g, nickel, 32 mm diameter, lettered edge.

Catalog reference: KM 25.
