Stack's Bowers 2020 ANA sale, lot 23443

This specimen was lot 23443 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Las Vegas, August 2020), where it sold for $720. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS ANTILLES. 300 Gulden, 1980. NGC PROOF-63 Ultra Cameo. Variety without privy marks. Issued for the abdication of Queen Juliana. An unusual and brilliant proof with hard mirrored fields and frosted cameo devices. Sold with original box of issue." This NCLT commemorated the abdication of queen Juliana in 1980 and the accession of her daughter Beatrix. This issue was supposed to have cock and star privy marks but a few (including the example shown here) were released without.

Recorded mintage: 29,300 plus 12,000 proofs (all varieties).

Specification: 5.04 g, 0.900 fine gold.
