This type was struck 1859-1863 at the Potosi mint. The denomination on the coin is written as '400 Gs' rather than '8 soles' as with earlier issues. Bolivia converted to decimal coinage in 1864.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 20 g, 0.903 fine silver, 0.5807 oz ASW.
