This specimen was lot 74316 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2022), where it sold for $576. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. Taler, 1609. Hall Mint. Rudolph II. PCGS AU-55. Emperor is wearing a ruffled collar, as was the style of the time. Note the Chain of the Golden Fleece surrounding the reverse shield." The SCWC notes this type was struck 1607 and 1609-10 and is among the more common thalers of the period.
