This type, worth 12 sols tournois, was struck 1561-74. Note the date in Roman numerals. The protrait is of Charles IX, king of France 1560-74 during the Wars of Religion. This is a common date, with thirty reported in Sombart's survey[2].
Recorded mintage: 214,353 including a few demi-écus.
