Sincona sale 75, lot 159

This specimen was lot 159 in Sincona sale 75 (Zurich, May 2022), where it sold for 2,800 CHF (about US$3,399 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Grossbritannien | Königreich. William III. und Mary, 1689-1694. 1/2 Guinea 1689, London. First conjoined busts, second A in GRATIA cuts into truncation. Selten. NGC XF45. (kingdom of Great Britain, William III and Mary II, 1689-94, half guinea of 1689, London mint, First conjoined busts, second A in GRATIA cuts into truncation. Extremely fine, Rare.)"

This type was struck 1689 only and was the first issue of half guineas by these rulers.
