Sweden 1847 2-3 skilling rev H3029-31811.jpg

This specimen was lot 31811 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $211.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Oscar I 2/3 Skilling 1847, MS64 Red NGC. Very lightly toned and original with fully lustrous surfaces, a most attractive example and decidedly rare in this certified grade. Ex: 'Colonel' E.H.R. Green; Green Estate' Partnership of Eric P Newman/B.G. Johnson." Prior to the reform of 1830, 48 skilling = one riksdaler; after 1830, 128 skilling = one riksdaler specie. Recorded mintage: 89,000.

Specification:7.6 g, copper, 24.4 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM 663.
