This specimen was lot 71267 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2020), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. 25 Dollars, 2014. Ottawa Mint. PCGS PROOF-69 Deep Cameo. Struck to commemorate the sainthood of Pope John Paul II. A sharply struck proof with brilliant fields and frosted cameo devices." The profits extracted from the manufacture and sale of NCLT's caused the Royal Canadian Mint to scramble for ever more arcane topics, including this one honoring John Paul II.
