This specimen was lot 1652 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $1,116.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. 2 Daler Plate Money, 1716. Karl XII (1697-1718). 6.75 x 7.25 in. (Tingstrom: 152 examples known including 49 pieces from the Nicobar). All stamps fairly well applied. The center stamp is a bit uneven, but with clear denomination, while the corner stamps have all four dates complete and legible. Even smooth wear is present throughout with no corrosion or evidence of extended circulation. Therefore a likely scenario is that this piece was submerged in fresh moving water for a period of time, or perhaps land burial. Minor verdigris deposits in crevices, otherwise pleasing cinnamon patina." This type is noted for 1716-17 only.
