This specimen was lot 35119 in Heritage sale 3067 (Long Beach, September 2018), where it sold for $552. The catalog description[1] noted, "Switzerland: Solothurn. Canton 5 Batzen 1811 MS66 NGC. A scarcer type and most desirable in this gem presentation. Displaying a warm glow of pale amber chroma and satiny surfaces. From the Feeling Good Collection." This type was struck 1809 and 1811, with the 1809 being rare. Five batzen equalled one-eighth of a thaler. The last five batzen was issued in 1826 and with it the last coinage from this canton.
