This specimen was lot 71291 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $504. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. Papal States. 1/2 Zecchino, 1747. Rome Mint. Benedetto XIV. PCGS Genuine--Scratch, AU Details. A well struck and charming piece with satin like luster and a good overall eye appeal despite the details designation." This type is listed for 1740-56. It is the only half ducat of the eighteenth century to be somewhat available.
